Read each section of Thinking Rhetorically from the Writing Commons site.
Read Chapter 6 from Transitions.
Read "Why are Finland's Schools Successful?"
Read "What Americans Keep Ignoring about Finland's School Success"
IMPORTANTLY, I want you to practice predatory reading on these selections without a reading guide from me (this is intentionally more reading than most of you can complete in two hours). I believe reading guides/discussion questions are important, but you won't always get them from instructors. Some instructors will give verbal guidance on what to look for in reading, and some won't give much guidance at all. See if you can figure out what discussion questions you think I'll ask in class! When you get to class, I'll ask you to share at least one discussion question you think I'll ask, so write a few questions in your notes.
